From the classroom:
Our older writers have taken a stab at essay writing this week! Thinking about the prompt and what it is asking, organizing and sequencing thoughts, and finishing with a convincing conclusion are all skills they began to explore. The younger writers continued with a medley of stories while trying to include author’s tools such as similes, dialog, details, sound effects, and more.
Throughout the week we read more about Day of the Dead, developing additional schema and using this new schema for deeper understanding of stories set around this event.
