Mary has been an advisor at the Jefferson County Open School since 1997. She has a background in Expeditionary Learning and Stanley British Primary Education. She is the mother of two children currently enrolled at the Jefferson County Open School. She has an MA in Curriculum and Instruction. Mary enjoys hiking, skiing, running, reading, and time at the beach with her family.
Ana and Mary have been teaching together at the Jefferson County Open School for the past 16 years. Each year they have enjoyed creating a sense of wonder in their classroom and guiding children on their educational journey. Together they have presented at the International Self-Directed Learning Symposium, Colorado Kinder Conference, and have published two articles about their practice.
This year they have become a lab classroom for the Public Education Business Coalition, hosting teachers from across the country.
Ana has been an advisor at the Jefferson County Open School since 1998. Her background is in Stanley British Primary and Waldorf education. She has published many articles about (American) educational matters in Germany She is the proud mother of three graduates from the Jefferson County Open School. She has an MA in German and English Language and Literature. She enjoys playing music, hiking, gardening, and traveling the world.
